AUOL DOCTORATE Degrees

GENERAL INFORMATION

If you chose to obtain your degree by research and by   writing a dissertation   a University accredited supervisor will be appointed and he /she, will communicate with you, oversee your work and generally guide you throughout your program of study on a chapter by chapter basis until the thesis is ready for submission to the Graduate Dissertation Committee ( GDC).

VIVA VOCE  (Oral Defence of Thesis):

The call for a viva voce examination  (oral defence of the thesis) is entirely at the discretion of the GDC. However if your supervisor has approved your work, the GDC would normally go along with his/her recommendation without the need for a viva voce.

PROGRAM DURATION & AWARD OF DEGREE

No minimum statutory period. Degree will be awarded upon successful completion of the dissertation. The degree will be conferred on the recommendation of the GDC. Minimum mandated registration period for the program is one year

TUITION FEES

Application Fee  £50.00 GBP. No application will be considered unless accompanied by the application fee.

Degree Programme Fees all Doctorate programs

£4500.00 for the full degree programme regardless of duration. AUOL graduates will receive a 15% discount on their fees.

TRANSFER CREDITS

Courses taken at an other recognized institution for credit toward degrees at the American University of London are graded according to that institution’s grading system and are converted or equated to AUOL grades.

LOCAL SUPERVISORS

In April 2003  the Senate of the American University of London  passed a resolution allowing   degree programs to be taken  in ARABIC,  MANDARIN & SPANISH if offered at the University’s accredited affiliates  and  subject to the availability of  locally –based supervisors .. AUOL is the first university in the world to offer such facility.

HOW TO APPLY

If you wish to submit an application for admission to the university, please e-mail SCANNED COPIES of your application documents –below- to the registrar (please attach bank proof of payment of the application fee)

OR

If you prefer, you may submit   copies of the application documents below by registered post or by courier. Please attach bank proof of payment of fees

No application will be considered unless accompanied by the application fee or proof of its payment.

APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

1. A completed, signed and dated application form a signed and dated copy of your online submission,
2. Copy of your passport/ID as confirmation of identity and nationality.
3. A current CV this is important in order to assess the no. of APEL Credits you may be entitled to)
4. Two passport size photographs. (One of which will be used for your University ID card
5. Application Fee of £50 (fifty pounds sterling. Cheques, international drafts etc. payable to AUOL.

Registration and tuition fees must be made by bank to bank transfer  payable to AUOL ONLINE.
